SANFORD. You'll have an opportunity to meet some of Florida's slimiest and most dangerous residents at this zoo, located in nearby Sanford. Exhibits include such threatened and endangered species as the Florida pine snake, the American alligator and the American crocodile. The park is also home to a cornucopia of animals from around the world, from Indian elephants to the clouded snow leopard (a new addition). The Central Florida Zoological Park offers a fun and educational repertoire of hands-on programs, allowing everyone to get up close and personal with some of their favorite animals.

SOUTH ORLANDO. One part animal habitat plus one part educational outing equals twice the fun. Family-owned Gatorland shelters thousands of alligators, animals, and birds on its premises, and you can pet some of them, learn fascinating facts about all of them, and observe the natural habitats of many of them. Although guests may not buy a baby croc or gator to take home, they can still participate in the "Adopt -A- Croc" program ­ check at the gift shop for details. A great excursion for kids and adults alike.
